Class Schedules with Descriptions

See our Camp Calendar at this link! http://tinyurl.com/cannonmusiccamp
(This is a Google Calendar in which you can navigate to the June 22 - July 13 time period to see the camp schedule.)

Below are sample schedules for individual campers unique to their area of study. These may not reflect an individual camper's schedule because each camper's unique schedule is set the first few days of camp.  Each camper will participate in their major ensemble(s), a music theory class, a weekly private lesson, masterclasses, and enrichment for their area - all included in the cost of camp - but the exact times of those activities will be different for each camper. For example, the exact times of their classes may be based on which music theory class they place into, which ensembles they enter based on audition, and what other opportunities they would like to pursue. There will be some time for students to practice as well. Camp administration and staff work to make sure students have as many opportunities as possible in their area(s) of interest!

Steps the camper takes to help determine their schedule:

  • Take the Theory Placement Test (link will be sent shortly before camp)
  • Audition for ensemble(s) and sign up for non-auditioned ensemble(s) (1st Sunday at 12:30 PM).
  • If you perform with a secondary instrument/voice, you may audition for placement in a secondary ensemble(s).
  • Register for a weekly one-hour private lesson in your Primary Instrument/voice(included in camp tuition)
  • Add optional fee-based activities the first week of camp: Alexander Technique, Piano Class, or Secondary Lessons
  • (Only those taking Secondary Lessons) Visit the desired secondary lesson teacher to request a lesson time slot and ask them to complete your secondary lesson form
  • Add/Drop period ends the first Wednesday

Steps the camp staff take to help determine students' schedules:

  • Schedule camp ensembles, classes, and activities to optimize them for the different instrument/voice areas
  • Review audition and music theory placement results to place students in the ensemble/class that will be the ideal fit for them
  • Help students adjust schedules to make time for the activities they are most interested in
  • Receive registrations and payments for optional fee-based activities: Alexander Technique, Piano Class, or Secondary Lessons (this occurs the first week of camp)
